Annual Poet Laureate Poetry Awards for Senior High School Students

Through the Annual Poet Laureate Poetry Awards for Senior High School students, Ms. Kendrick empowers teachers to help students reveal through poetry, thoughts of love, home life, politics, and other issues.  These writings are poignant, reflective and positive.  The program acknowledges excellence through five major awards and three honorary mentions.

This program is supported in part by the Office of the DC Poet laureate, DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities, Inter-American Development Bank and Duke Ellington School of the Arts.
