Advisory Panelists/Volunteering

Advisory Panelists
The DC Arts Commission is currently seeking nominations for Advisory Panelists to make funding recommendations for its programs. Artists, administrators, educators and critics in the arts with at least a two year history of involvement in the District's arts community are eligible for nomination. Panelists are appointed for a one year term and may be reappointed for up to three consecutive years, for a maximum of four years.  The rotation of advisory panel members ensures that each year will bring varying perspectives to the application review process. Panelists serve on a voluntary basis. Individuals will not be allowed to serve as panelists for programs in which they are applicants.

If you would like to be considered for panelist opportunities, please complete the Advisory Panelist Nomination Form and attach a current copy of your resume. The nomination form includes additional information about the panel process and eligibility requirements. Individuals may self-nominate. Nominations are reviewed periodically throughout the year. For more information, please contact Catherine Cleary at (202) 724-5613.

Download the Advisory Panelist nomination form.* Please note: This form can be completed by typing into the fields on page 3. Please call (202) 724-5613 to request a form sent by mail.

Volunteering
Numerous volunteer opportunities exist within the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. Community volunteers are essential, for example, at the International Film Festival, the Poet Laureate's Poetry Festival, the Larry Neal Writers' Awards and the Mayor's Arts Awards. In order to be considered for volunteer opportunities, please download the DC Arts Commission volunteer form and fax it to (202) 727-4135. Please direct the fax to the attention of Ebony Blanks.
