Hip Hop Community Arts Initiative 

The Hip Hop Community Arts Initiative offers funds to individuals and organizations for programs that encourage the growth of quality Hip Hop arts activities throughout the city and making Hip Hop arts experiences accessible to District residents. Eligible projects include, but are not limited to: visual arts exhibitions, literary readings, productions and presentations of dance theatre, or music, multidisciplinary presentations, interdisciplinary art forms, arts education projects, festivals and concerts. 

The application deadline for FY 2009 Hip Hop Community Arts Initiatives is Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 7 pm. 

Workshops
The Commission hosts a series of workshops to assist all individuals and organizations in preparing applications and strongly encourages that all applicants attend a workshop prior to submitting a proposal. 
No prior reservations are required to attend workshops. Workshops are held in several different facilities in Washington, DC. View directions to workshop locations.

Hip Hop Community Arts Initiative workshops will be held:

    6-7:30 pm
  • Wednesday, August 27, 2008
    THE ARC
    Noon-1:30 pm
The FY 2009 Hip Hop Community Arts Initiative Application and Guidelines will be available by May 30, 2008.
