East of the River Cultural Arts Program The East of the River Cultural Arts Program offers high-quality arts and educational experiences to residents east of the Anacostia River. Individually designed programs are offered at selected sites in the District's southeast communities. Programs address the learning needs and cultural interests of participating organizations through performances, workshops, studio classes, and field trips. Teacher and parental involvement are integral parts of programming. The average length of a program is 15 weeks. Programs may be delivered during regular school hours or after school.
