East of the River Arts Initiative

The East of the River Arts Initiative (EOR) focuses on arts activities east of the Anacostia River. The program strengthens organizational structures, develops audiences, and increases arts presentations east of the river. To be eligible, an organization's operating facility must be east of the Anacostia River (Wards 7 and 8) in the District of Columbia. The organization also must have federal (IRS) and District tax-exempt status by the application date, and a representative must attend one of the required workshops.

The deadline for Fiscal Year 2009 East of the River Arts Initiative Programs is Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 7 pm.

Workshops
The Commission hosts a series of workshops to assist organizations in preparing applications and requires that all East of the River Arts Initiatives applicants attend a workshop prior to submitting a proposal. No prior reservations are required to attend workshops. Workshops are held in several different facilities in Washington, DC. View directions to workshop locations.
